Is Mobile Grooming expensive?
The short answer is, Yes. Mobile grooming provides grooming convenience at your doorstep where each pup receives one-on-one attention. Much like you pay higher prices for specialists to come to your home or deliver food to you, you can expect to pay a higher price point for Mobile Grooming. The price is higher than most shops, but you are paying for convenience and top-notch service specific to your household during the appointment.
May I tour the Poochie Oasis Van?
Yes! I love to show clients the van. You should be comfortable in every aspect of the grooming process. Touring the van is not only fun but it gives you a better idea of where your pooch will be. All I ask is that you not tour the van with your pooch. Space is limited and we do not want any accidents.
I want to watch. Can I?
Due to insurance requirements, we cannot allow pet parents to stay in the van during grooming appointments. Watching is not recommended as pets tend to get more anxious and misbehave in the presence of their parent. If there is a special circumstance, we will be happy to discuss to determine the appropriate action.
Do I need to be home?
Life is busy! We want to be convenient for you! You will need to be home and available for your first appointment. We want to establish a relationship with you and your pooch. After that, if all goes well with the grooming, we will inform you and you no longer need to be home. We will discuss arrangements for your pooch and payment of service without you being at home for the appointment. If you will not be home for the appointment, we ask that you either crate your pup(s) or confine them to an area where it is easy for the groomer to get them.
Will you plug in my home for power?
Plugging in is not required. The mobile salon is fully self contained with power and water supply. The van is battery powered. There is a 65 gallon fresh water tank with a water heater for a relaxing warm bath. We would only need to plug in to your home in an emergency situation should equipment not function. Plugging in is not a common practice for Poochie Oasis.
What form of payment do you accept?
Payment is due at the time of service after your pooch is groomed.
We currently accept check and credit/debit card. Sorry, no cash is accepted at this time. We offer a cash discount to clients paying by check. In order to schedule an appointment, we require a credit/debit card be kept on file.
We have a $20 returned check fee.
What if I forget my appointment or need to cancel?
A 24 hour notice is required for a cancellation. This is so Poochie Oasis may fill your appointment spot with another client if we are able and so we can work you back into our schedule so your pooch doesn’t go too long without getting a groom. We understand that emergencies do happen. Everyone’s time is important. If we arrive to your home and you are not there and no prior arrangements were made to get your pup without your presence, we will charge you 75% of the total groom. This will need paid prior to rescheduling your pooch for their next grooming appointment. If you are a repeat offender, then Poochie Oasis will remove you from our list of clients.
What time of year do you groom?
Poochie Oasis grooms all year long! The van is climate controlled providing heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. We do not groom in the winter if driving conditions are dangerous. We will reschedule your appointment once the danger passes.
Do you groom cats?
No, we do not offer cat grooming services at this time.
How long will grooming take?
The amount of time it takes to groom each pooch varies greatly by the breed and style. A short-hair small dog may take an hour. Where a long-hair meium dog may take two plus hours.
How often should I groom my pup?
This depends on the breed, your pup’s lifestyle and your personal preferences. Our clients have their pets groomed on a regular schedule of every 4 weeks. Dogs on a 4-week schedule maintain a nice coat. It is easier for you to keep up with at home and we find there is less shedding in your home. We highly recommend that you schedule your next appointment with us so that you get the appointment you want. Once we are booked, you will have to go on a waitlist for service and we cannot guarantee availability once this happens.
